My first post!

I have never blogged before but I thought I would try something new. Here I go...

I enjoy antique and thrift store shopping. Its like looking around in somebody else's attic. Last weekend my husband and I stopped in Goodwill just to see if anything tickled our fancy. My husband found some old Nintendo games; he collects them. As I strolled through the aisle of dishes a particular set of plates caught my eye. They were totally retro and the pink and yellow flower print was perfect for a ladies brunch. I turned them over and discovered they were Mikasa. At only $7 for a set of 4 large plates and 4 small plates I couldn't refuse. I certainly didn't need any more plates in our house but I figured I may have stumbled upon a small vintage treasure. According to my internet research, the plates are Mikasa Duplex by Ben Seibel in the Eden print and worth quite a bit more than what I paid for them! Yay!
